Connections at LAX

I went back and read Lucky's post dated March 2, 2016: "My Experience With The LAX International Terminal Connector". Here's my situation: I will be flying HKG to LAX on AA #192 arriving LAX at 5:00 p.m. On a completely separate reservation, I will then fly LAX to DFW on AA #1116 departing LAX at 6:25 p.m. As you can see, not a lot of time in between. In reading Lucky's post, I was trying to figure out if I could use the new connector between TBIT to T4 to make my connection to DFW. One of the comments made by someone said that international arrivals into TBIT must clear immigration and they were not able to use the connector from TBIT to T4 - instead had to exit and then go through security at T4 for their connection. I'm trying to avoid having to go through security given my time constraints. Does anyone know the situation for sure? Is approximately 1 hour enough to clear immigration at TBIT and then get to T4 and go through security and make it for my flight to DFW? I know lots of factors are involved. This will occur on a Saturday evening so hopefully, short security lines - assuming I cannot use the connector between TBIT and T4. Thoughts or suggestions?
