Maximizing Corporate Travel

    Hi Lucky,

I travel a TON for work and it requires a lot of uncertainty and immediate action ("You have to get on a plane tomorrow!") - I've noticed that I've been racking up the points and only recently have I begun to take inventory of how much I have and it's nice to know - I only started getting into counting my mileage in December during some sleepless evening in Helsinki but getting deep, fast.

For someone who travels corporate often - whether its planned out or last minute, how do I choose the best flight to maximize for my personal gain in terms of miles/awards?

My own answer was assuming the highest price ticket -- now do I also win some by taking a connection?

    Hi Virginia!

It used to be that you earned more miles for extra flying, but most of the U.S. programs these days award miles based on the ticket price, so there's no benefit to connecting.

Can you tell us more about how/where you're traveling?
