    Hey,

I am planning/trying to book Singapore Airlines First Class from Australia to NYC via Singapore and Frankfurt.

At the moment there are no saver awards available for the flight from Singapore to Frankfurt on the dates I looked for. However, there are dates with saver awards with wait list option available.

My question is: can I book the complete journey anyway, even if one leg is only wait list and then hope the wait list will clear? Or can I book any other day with an award available and then put me on the wait list for the dates I want to fly?

I want to avoid booking individual segments, as the award rate is more expensive this way.

    Cheers

I've never done it myself - but I would think if the wait list is available on the right day, that's your best option...

The general advice with Singapore Airlines is to book at least one confirmed award, and you can waitlist yourself on as many flights as you want (you can even waitlist yourself on the same flight as your confirmed award in a different booking class). Then you can cancel your confirmed award if the waitlist clears, but that's definitely a gamble with the Suites and on this route as availability is always extremely limited.
