    Long time reader here.

I'm currently stuck trying to book this route, LAX to SIN. I am currently booked on LAX to ICN on SQ7 flight and trying to change it to LAX to SIN on a same flight number. SQ7 continues on to ICN to SIN after a layover at ICN. Apparently it's more than a fuel stop as you can get off and new passengers from ICN can get on.

According to Singapore.com, even after my booking, there are still 2 business seats available on LAX to ICN. and 4+ available on ICN to SIN. yet, if I search for LAX to SIN, no availability... just an option for wait list. I called Singapore twice already, they said if no availability shows between LAX to SIN, I can't book it no matter what the availability is on individual segment. They said only way is to book them separately for another 43k additional miles or be on a wait list if I want to combine both segments on 1 ticket. But wait for what when availability already exists (though separately)???

It seems this is sort of a bug... only because two segments are actually on a same flight (SQ7)?
LAX to SIN availability shows up if I search for later dates though...

    has anyone got any ideas?

    Sadly, this isn't actually odd.

For reasons I don't understand, SQ has:
    • Different inventory for changes than new itineraries
    • Inventory quotas based on city pairs and geographic regions, which also impacts what the call center can see (since they aren't in the same geographic zone as you)
    • Point of sale restrictions
Your best bet is to waitlist, then appeal to a supervisor during business hours in Singapore. It's not a guarantee, but if you explain the situation sometimes they are willing to open space and manually reissue the ticket.
