I found a GREAT price on business class tickets from NAN to LAX on Fiji Airways. It was sold through Orbitz as an Air New Zealand flight number operated by Fiji Airways. I am wondering where is the best place to credit the flight to earn miles? It is J fare class. Thanks!

Welcome @Patrick Mc - I think that because you've got the Air NZ flight number that means you'll need to look at their partners. Wheretocredit.com lists a bunch of options for J class: https://www.wheretocredit.com/air-new-zealand/j

With Aeroplan and UA you'd get 125% of miles flown (assuming no elite status). With Life Miles and Virgin Atlantic you'd get 200% of miles flown. But keep in mind that LM can sometimes be difficult to work with and with both airlines you'd need to check the expiration dates on miles. But URs can be transferred to Virgin to top off an account for an award and Life Miles often sells miles pretty cheaply.

If I'm wrong about having to credit through Air NZ, someone please correct me. If Patrick can ticket to Fiji Air partners then Alaska and American are the clear winners.

Thanks for the quick reply. I initially put in United on the booking because of the Air NZ flight number but it's good to know that Virgin Atlantic is at 200%. My wife and I used Virgin Atlantic to fly ANA First to Tokyo in January so I can put those to use.

If I can code to Alaska/American because of the Fiji Airways flight, what rates do they credit at? I've not credited partners to them before as I'm typically on an award ticket with those airlines.
