Since February of this year, American Airlines changed how they code gift card purchases, and many people reported being unable to get these expenses reimbursed by Amex. While I have not seen otherwise, I am assuming the Ritz Carlton would be in a similar situation as well.

Does anyone have any experience with getting the Ritz Carlton Card’s airline credit reimbursed recently? I tried searching for recent data points, but have yet to find any relevant information.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Even prior to AA's coding changes, I dont think the Ritz travel credit worked for gift cards. It was harder to use in that you had to call in after the purchase to get a credit and I'm not sure gift cards coded as MISC TAX was eligible. I dont recall hearing about that as a valid purchase for reimbursement.
