Probably not the first nor the last question...

Currently scheduled to fly from LAX to Ho Chi Minh City on 3/4 and out of Hanoi to LAX on 3/15. As of yesterday, Asiana has canceled flights between Incheon and Hanoi through 3/9. With much of what I was going to see in VN closed (the markets and some of the year-of-the-tourist stuff), and reasonably expecting that the 3/9 date will get extended, I want to move this trip to November.

Asiana's phone operators are not being helpful, saying that a change fee (which is substantial) is still required. Of course, I could wait it out, figuring that the date will change before my journey, but there are other things I need to address - Airbnbs, etc. Furthermore, I don't have a mask and you can't find them in SoCal or on Amazon - on in Asia for that matter.

Biggest concern is that I start my journey and either VN increase the quarantine to include Hanoi or that other countries (like Korea or the US) either refuse entry or require quarantine. The trip is insured, but I don't think that the insurance would cover this issue.

What do you think the best way to approach Asiana is? I could go to LAX and make a stink at the ticket counter or could go to their offices on Wilshire and do the same. I could just wait and see, but that is a bit of a crap shoot. In any case, it no longer sounds like a vacation (hunting for masks, empty markets, etc.) - the issue is primarily the change fee and making future plans.
