Best FF program for US based premium flyer on United

I have a question I've never really seen a good answer for.

I'm a premium flyer on United (biz class to Asia several times a year), historically this has been enough to be United 1K however now United has pushed the bar wayyy out (need $24k in spend),

I'm wondering if I should try to status match to a non us based carrier and earn star alliance gold outside the US? Would you have a recommendation on which program would offer the best milage redemption and reasonable star alliance gold qualification? I travel J class most of the time to Asia from the west cost, so doing 10K distance miles per leg usually.

    Thanks!

Have you thought about Delta and AA? Delta is strong to Asia, has good hard product, but poor value for miles. AA has good hard product on international flights, but unless you are in LAX you are either going to have to connect there or in DFW. AA miles have incredible value on CX and JAL.
