I need to get from Houston to MEX. I've compared UA and AM through AF and AA with Avios. The only available UA flight at 17,500 points is not at a preferred time for me (there are other times at 25,000 points); AM flights are only available in business at 28,000 AF miles.

When I search Houston to Mexico City on Avios, there are no available tickets for this itinerary. However, I see seven seats on multiple HOU/IAH - DFW (7,500 Avios) and DFW-MEX (7,500 Avios) AA flights when I search each leg separately.

I see various itineraries available when I search on AA with SAAver availability at 15,000. I have a lot more Chase UR than AA points though, and I'd rather use my AA points for other carriers, so that's another reason why I am looking to use Avios.

Is there anyway to book a multi-city trip with both legs on one PNR with Avios? I plan to check a bag, so if I go this route instead of a direct flight on UA, AM, or 4O, I don't want to pay two separate baggage fees and would like the bag to be through-checked to MEX.

Or I may just book a revenue ticket on 4O, but the cheapest flight is very early in the morning...

Have you tried calling BA? Their website is not always the greatest at piecing together itineraries, especially when you're not transiting the UK. See if you can get them to waive any booking fees since it's not showing up on the website.

Second what @MidSouth Skier says. I always have to call when I want to book MLE-CMB-BOM because BA.com won't show the entire trip even though both legs have plenty of availability. Just call and tell them to waive any call center fees if they try to charge them.
