Sorry for lengthy question but I feel this is a major life decision!

I live in a southeastern city with direct flights to ATL, CLT, DFW, and IAH. My wife and I use the CSR, CFU, and CF “trifecta” for all of our personal spend. Put ~$100k per year between the 3 cards.

My wife is buying a medical practice and expects to put ~$240k per year on credit card spend.

I want some diversification of points so I’m considering a plan where we earn all Chase points with personal spend and AMEX or Delta points with business spend as ATL is the most convenient hub. We don’t travel for business, few single purchases over $5000, and lounge access isn’t all that important. I am considering the following:

    1) AMEX Gold Business and choosing advertising as 3x category and using card for dining, gas, shipping

    2) Spend exactly $50k on AMEX Blue Business for 2x points

    3) Spend $50k on Delta AMEX Platinum to achieve MQM bonus thresholds.

What am I not thinking of? Where should remaining non-bonused spend go? Or should I forget AMEX and just earn Chase through business too with Chase Ink family?

Ink cards are worth considering but it's also good to diversify so the Amex is a good choice. While not a business card, you may want to consider the Amex Everyday/Everyday Preferred cards to boost earnings of purchases in other categories besides dining, gas, and shipping and after you hit the 50k threshold on the Blue Biz card.
