my wife and i both have citi prestige and citi premier. i have read that if we cancel any of them you only have 60 days to redeem points. I know the cost of the prestige unless there is a change is only 200 after the air credit but does it make sense to keep 2 prestige cards and 2 premier? we use the hotel benefit but not for 8 days to justify both cards. we do get way more than the total cost of prestige and premier with hotel but dont want to pay for 4 cards if anyway around. we hope to use the points for singapore down the road. i only use my prestige cards so have no need for the premier but don;t want to lose 60k+ pts. what are your thoughts on a strategy?

Once the brouhaha over costco dies down you could call the citi retention line to see if they have any offers for you to offset your annual fees. You could also consider closing one of each (so one person keeps the Prestige and the other keeps the Premier) so you can maximize earnings and benefits. If you have points in the accounts I'd suggest transferring them to a travel partner before they expire. SQ, FlyingBlue, EY etc offer decent options.
