Got targeted for the recent Chase UA 70K + 5K offer along with the $50 statement credit.
    Applied today and got denied.

I had 3 applications in the last 2 years, an auth user on my Wife's doscover card.So went for it.

Got reviewed and they pulled that I am an authorized user on a friend's freedom card and finally declined.
I should blame myself for not counting in to my inventory.

One thing I learnt new is that, recently I converted my Sapphire to a Freedom Unlimited. At that time, I made sure that would not count as a new application. Apparently that is also showing in the list. Not sure if that is counted towards the 5/24 or not but the rep mentioned that too. This is something I am very curious about.

    Long story short -
5/24 applies to targeted UA apps.
Authorized user without SSN included do count (As a matter of fact, my name is cut short on my friend's authorized account. My legal name is very long and used a portion of my first name on that. Still picked it)

I am not crying foul. Wanted to post so that this serves as a data point for someone.

    Good luck.

That's good to know. I would try another rep though. I think some people have been successful making the argument that authorized user accounts should not count against you.

So, do these authorized user accounts matter only if you are applying for another Chase card, or with Citi as well? With all our cards me and my wife are authorized users on each other's cards, and I am about to apply for a Citi AA Executive Card, so just would like to know what to expect..

The way I understood, EVERY authorized user counts. One of the things the rep quoted was a Discover account.

Sure, I understand that every authorized card counts if you apply for ANOTHER Chase card, but how about if I apply for a new CITI card? After reading this blog, it seems to me that CITI is more lenient than Chase, and it has not been enforcing the 5/24 rule.

@Daniel B the 5/24 is Chase-specific. It's something they "created" and are enforcing. You should be fine applying for a new Citi card.

Thank you for clarifying - I am glad that it is not like that with Citi.
