    Hey All,

I'd appreciate some guidance. I'm looking to travel roundtrip from ORD to SRQ, non-stop in early April. There are Saver awards to SRQ, but no saver dates available on the return. This coincides with the spring break calendar, so our flexibility is limited.

    Questions:

    1. Does that mean I cannot use a Star Alliance partner to book the award?
    2. If the award cost is 45,000 miles on United (12.5K + 32.5K), am I better off paying $570 for the ticket (includes taxes and fees)?

    Appreciate the feedback!

You could always look at booking it as two one-way tickets. You could use partner miles on the outbound (assuming it's less than 12.5K UA miles) and use the UA miles for the non-saver fare on the return. Or just pay cash for the return flight. I do this a lot.
