Hilton Credit Cards in Australia

The only Hilton affiliated credit card in Australia is the Hilton Macquarie Bank card. The bank has now discontinued issuing the card but existing users can continue to use it for Hilton points - 1 point for A$1 on all purchases with 4 points per $US1 when used to pay for Hilton hotels.

This card is nowhere near the offers made to US citizens on the several Hilton affiliated cards available to them. Is there anything you can do to lobby Hilton Honors to have link-ups with other Australian banks and to provide better offers and incentives to sign up?

Hi Merv, typically we receive some pretty impressive (by foreign standards) offers and incentives for credit cards here in the US because the credit cards make a lucrative amount of money of merchant fees, thus enabling them to spend the money to attract customers like us. Unfortunately, most other countries cap the amount credit card companies make, making it harder for them to offer similar earning structures.
