Q: If NYC mandates a 14 day quarantine from so many states (ie FL)- can one person simply fly into JFK and immediately car service to condo, stay for 7 days without leaving condo, then return home to other state (ie FL)?
Im paying rent / ConEd on said rental / condo in NYC and would like to simply see my apartment. It has a big balcony for exercise and is nice for 7 days in quarantine.
If not staying in NYC, then can I exit quicker than the 14 days?
    Thanks.

This is from the NYS website:

I am a resident of a designated state and will be visiting family in NYS for less than 14 days. Will I have to quarantine in NYS for the full 14 days?
While in New York State, you will need to maintain quarantine for 14 days from the last day you were in a designated state(s). If you are in New York State for less than 14 days, you will need to quarantine for the entire time you are in New York and, to protect the public wherever you are, you should complete the remainder of the 14-day period quarantine period in your home upon return to a designated state.

So in theory, as long as you stay confined, you are allowed to come for less than 14 days.
However, and saying this on behalf of many of my fellow New Yorkers, I would really strongly urge you to reconsider if it's not absolutely essential for you to come here. The sentiment here is that we worked hard to somewhat flatten the curve in the city, and we feel strongly about people visiting from states where things are out of control, like Florida, and putting us at risk. Of course you are absolutely free to do what you want, but thought I would let you know how things are here. Stay safe!

I hear you. I'm super respectful, and have been since first week of March when I exited NYC for MIA. I remember my Lysol wipes all over the seat and trays etc.
I paid for a ticket in October so will just wait. I'm happier here in MIA anyway, so....its best for everyone just to keep it simple. @Clem , You made up my mind.
