It's coming up on time to sign up for next year's ski trips and our tour operator will allow us to pay via credit card for a 3% surcharge. In the past I've thought that's not such a good deal but if I pay with a CSR and get 3 points per dollar and each UR is worth (by Ben's estimate) 1.7 cents per point - or even the minimum of 1.5 cpp when shopping through the UR portal - wouldn't I still come out ahead using the card? Am I overthinking this or is there something I haven't considered?

By my calculations and Ben’s Valuation of UR points, you make $2.25 on each $100 of ski tour charges.

    $103 x 3 = 309 points x .017 = $5.25 - $3.00 (tour operator cost for credit card use) = $2.25/$100 of spend.

    I’d do it.
