    Hi Lucky/OMAAT Team,

I have started travelling quite frequently for work about three years ago (110+ hotel nights a year and 150k butt in seat miles a year) but have been keeping my hotel loyalty with SPG somewhat blindly. Note that this is not a rant about all the integration issues and how I plan on taking all my business elsewhere because of account issues etc but rather that I have just been thinking that I am probably better off with some diversification.

I could, for example, take 60 of my SPG nights to Hyatt, supplement my SPG stays with 15 credit card nights, and still qualify for Platinum Premier along with Hyatt Globalist. Considering the current status challenges etc, it wont take me too long to achieve Globalist status so the 20ish nights with a lower status are probably tolerable.

I currently have about 40k a year of annual spend so if i shift the most expensive of my stays to Hyatt I am probably well on the way to LT Globalist while still racking up the necessary years and nights to eventually get Marriott Lifetime Platinum. I expect to keep this level of travel up for the next 5 years at least and want to end up with the best possible position for LT status for when my travel slows down along with earning as many points as possible for personal vacation.

I dont need specifics on my situation but would love to read a post about how you guys think about the trade-offs of splitting stays across various chain vs an all-in approach in a single program.

It's always good to diversify so I think you have a great idea here. Find out about a status challenge and also getting the Hyatt card wouldnt hurt either. You might make use of the SPG Luxury card as well.
