I am trying to get a hang of the new United Premier Qualifications. I just very carefully review PQP earning on a flight from Denver to Glasgow because I could buy a ticket for the same flight on either United or Lufthansa. According to United.com, the PQP for DEN-EWR-GLA was 295 and 286 for the return. When I got my ticket confirmation, it had a chart indicating that I would receive 142 PQP for the entire flight! The ticket cost breakdown is the following:

    Airfare: 141.00 USD
    International Surcharge: 438.00 USD
September 11th Security Fee: 11.20 USD
U.S. APHIS User Fee: 3.96 USD
U.K. Passenger Service Charge: 19.60 USD
U.S. Customs User Fee: 5.99 USD
U.K. Air Passenger Duty: 110.80 USD
U.S. Immigration User Fee: 7.00 USD
U.S. Passenger Facility Charge: 13.50 USD

The United website indicates that PQP should be calculated on "base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges", so wouldn't that be the $141 plus $438 for a total of $579 or 579 PQP. I called Mileage Plus and they insisted that their calculation of 142 (there must be rounding errors somewhere) was correct and that the website must be wrong. They then transferred me to United.com service who said to take a screen shot of the numbers on the website... But doesn't the fare breakdown from my receipt indicate that 579 is correct?

I am not sure if the receipt calculation means anything, but I thought I would 1. make sure that I correct in what I am reading and 2. warn people that they may want to be sure to check their PQP!
