Seen America Lately?

  1. As much as I feel for HK, we have enough on our plate right now in America. Can you say Constitutional Crisis? Need I say more?

I'm guessing this is in response to Lucky's recent post about his layover in HK? While I do agree that we (the US) also has a lot on our plate, I don't see why a travel/miles/points blog should ignore the travel aspect of the protests in HK. I too recently had a 12 hour layover in HK last month, and I didn't find it as "subdued" as did Lucky. I also think comparing our problems to HK's with respect to travel is comparing apples and oranges. Our "problems" haven't curtailed tourism (much) nor stopped business travel (the way a recession does for instance). HK has been hit by downturns in both which makes the post relevant.
