I booked a round-trip multi-city flight on Turkish for June from SFO -> FRU, and then from TAS -> SFO. However, I meant to book DYU instead of TAS for the return trip. I've been reading about the "24-hour rule" which it seems Turkish is pretty shady about.

I've filed a change request with Turkish, but the lady at the call center said she couldn't accept payment for the change over the phone (I'd have to get down to SFO and make payment there). I've been thinking about cancelling the ticket, and just buying the new trip. From reading, it seems Turkish may not honor the cancellation request since I paid for the ticket "immediately."

Should I still cancel the ticket now (within 24 hours) and book the new trip? If they don't fully refund me I could bring it up with the credit card (used Citi Prestige for the booking). My concern is that for the customer support reference I was given, they said it will take up to 7 business days, so I'm concerned about dealing with this outside of the 24-hour time window.

It seems you just have to keep trying. I called in again, and got a different customer service agent, who seemed to have some knowledge of the 24-hour rule, and as such proactively offered to transfer me to native-English support who could help me. $340 later, plus $27.30 waiting for me at the airport (because they can't seem to refund things to the card), I'm all set.
