Gyms are among the required business to be shut down. Where I live, there's an exclusion for hotel gyms which hold less than 10 people. Anyone tried contacting a hotel for a chain where you have status and also live nearby, and asking if they'll let you use the gym. Thanks!

Is that not defeating the purpose? Try some sacrifice...

Sorry for being blunt, but c'mon.

You can - at least everywhere that I am aware of - exercise outdoors. There are workouts that can be done in just about any home, office, etc. that don't need gym equipment. Try the 7 Minute Workout. There is an App.

    Agreed, missing the point .

Several gyms in my area have been making headlines the past couple days as they are allowing people to rent out any of the equipment to aid in home workouts. Some it is free, some are charging a small rental deposit.

Your better, safer, bet would be to try that route, I think.

I'm temporarily living in a Homewood Suites due to home construction and our little gym is closed. Earlier this week the breakfast was cut down to cereal, yogurt and OJ. This morning there was no breakfast staff at all and the front desk gave me a bag with water, a Nutri-Grain bar and a bag of muffin bites. The lite dinner they usually offer Mon-Thurs nights was discontinued after Monday.

That is truly a bummer. Understandable, but still a bummer in that it just limits your options even further. For how much longer are you there? Do Homewood Suites have a stove / oven?

@Neil Eisner seriously? Agree with others here, it really doesn't look good to even consider that type of stuff right now. And as a gym rat myself you better believe that I'm up there with being upset that I can't go anymore.

But the more everyone plays the rules, the quicker we can be back. There are TONS of workouts being made available online that you can do at home, and that require no equipment so you can stay in shape.

If you need equipment and weights, there is also a wide array of cheap supplies you can (still) get online: resistance bands are great for instance, gliders, jump ropes etc.

If nothing interrupts work on the house (like a shelter-in-place order) I'll be lucky to be in my house by May 1. I have a microwave, 2 burner cooktop and a full-sized fridge. But I'm no cook at all. Don't enjoy it. But am thinking I may need to stock up on frozen stuff to last a couple of weeks. Grocery store is practically next door.

Restaurants here in Memphis are down to delivery/carry-out/drive-thru only but fortunately Door Dash is waiving some fees and I get the CSR discount with them.

Only good part is that as a Hilton Diamond (thanks to the Aspire card) I'm replenishing a lot of the points I spent in October. Housing folks not-so-hip on letting me have the charges billed to my card or I'd be making it back in no time. I should have about 50-60 nights before this is all over. (And a practically new inside of my house!)
