I'm headed to the Big Island next month and staying in hotels and VRBOs. I’m not worried about my SPG and Marriott reservations but the area near my VRBO has been evacuated. If things change and the neighborhood of my VRBO gets evacuated, will VRBO give me my money back?

It's probably better to ask VRBO directly about that as it's not usually discussed here and it's a special situation.

    Hi @Elm, and welcome!

Has your stay been pre-paid, and what are the cancelation terms of your reservation? I would check those.

And an extra tip, since the key part of VRBO is the "By Owner" -- I would also send a note to the owner letting them know you were thinking of them and that you hope they and their families are safe, and then maybe that you're still looking forward to being there next month, but that you understand it's a volatile situation, and if they need you to make other plans to please just let you know. I wouldn't ask about canceling specifically, since home owners in that area obviously have other priorities right now, just be kind.
