Hotels Waldorf Maldives not bookable after 3/24/2021 - leaving Hilton?

    Hi everyone-

There is something strange going on with the Waldorf Maldives starting next March 2021 - Lucky hoping you can shed some light.

I'm planning a Maldives trip next March, and given that Hilton releases award inventory one year in advance, I have been booking one night at a time in order to secure my Waldorf. I managed to secure a three night stay through March 24 when a funny thing happened. The Waldorf stopped releasing new inventory after March 24. It's been a week now, and nothing has come on despite the fact that all other Hilton hotels are bookable and historically the Waldorf Maldives has released inventory a year out just like all the others.

To be clear, they do not seem to be accepting any bookings at all after March 24, 2021 (not just award bookings). It shows the hotel as having not a single room available at all for a week after that.

I worry that this means the hotel is leaving Hilton! Or maybe there is a VIP guest who has booked out the entire property? 8 days seems like a very long stay in the Maldives however, so with each passing day that second option feels less and less likely.

That is very odd especially since the 24th is a Wednesday, right in the middle of the week. But if they are leaving Hilton maybe they're closing for a week before rebranding on April 1? Something weird is going on for sure.

Have you tried emailing the hotel? It could be something just as simple as their revenue manager being on vacation for a few days...

I also think it could be more likely that a VIP has booked the entire property for two weeks - certainly a great place to spend an extended vacation for the uber-rich!
